Life story
Batool Ali Fadhel Ziyad Al-Sairafi was born in Amman on 4 December 1978, the daughter of Ali Fadhel Al-Sairafi and Nadia Ammar Al-Jishi. She was born abroad while her father was studying there. She was named after her paternal grandmother, Batool. In 2000 she married Yaqoob Yousif Al-Kooheji. She studied English literature at the American University of Beirut and graduated in 2002. During her studies she failed her second year and nearly gave up, but repeated it and passed. She worked as a translator and English teacher. Today she lives in Tubli.
