Life story
Sakina Tariq Yahya Ghassan Al-Mahroos was born in Sitra on 28 October 1955 into the Al-Mahroos family. She finished secondary school. She was known for her skill in sewing and embroidery. In 1983 she married Hamad Abbas Al-Tooq. They had two children: Ammar and Muna. She bought a plot of land in Riffa and built the family home herself, room by room over seven years. She went through a period of depression after losing her job, and recovered with the support of her family and treatment. Today she lives in Riffa.
