Life story
Sharifa Adnan Yaqoob Habib Al-Tooq was born in Manama on 8 December 1933, the daughter of Adnan Yaqoob Al-Tooq and Fawzia Yahya Al-Sayegh. She finished secondary school. She devoted herself to raising her family and caring for the elderly of the household. In 1953 she married Juma Nawaf Al-Tooq. They had three children: Fawzia, Adnan and Zainab. She suffered a stroke that weakened her right side, but recovered much of her speech with therapy. She died in Diraz on 23 January 2014, at the age of 80.
